Ghostly Sounds in the Village

Coxe states that the sounds of horses hooves and the “crunch of wheels on gravel” have been reported in the village. However, he gives no indications as to the exact locality, frequency or possible background as to the audible phenomenon.

According to Matthews, the haunting is attributed to a ghostly carriage that appears "without any cause or reason" and travels from Framewood Road, passing the Black Horse Inn in the direction of Gerrards Cross.
