Pinkworthy Pond

Pinkworthy Pond

The pond (pictured above) lies near the dreaded bog known locally as “The Chains”, and is haunted by the apparition of one Farmer Gammon. He was a widower from Bowley Barton, who took his own life in 1889 by drowning himself in the waters following a refusal of marriage.
