Crazywell Pool or Crazy Well Pool is situated about 1.9 miles south of Princetown just off the path between Burrator and Whiteworks.

 

Locals once believed it to be bottomless and even brought up the bell ropes from the parish church to test its depth. The pool was also said to be haunted during the Middle Ages by the Witch of Sheepstor, who gave people bad advice. Coxe states that a voice would give the name of the next person to die in the locality.
