St. Mary The Virgin Church

Barn Hall

The legend surrounding Barn Hall is similar to accounts found in other parts of Great Britain. In this account, the Devil was busy destroying the house as fast as it was being built. The Knight who owned it made a pact with the Devil that he could have his soul in return for leaving the buildings alone. However, the Knight was buried within the walls of the local church, this deceiving the Devil.
