The Black Hound

The author Coxe in ‘Haunted Britain’ refers to the apparition of a black hound haunting Tring, although does not provide a more accurate location. Some have suggested that the black hound is the spirit of a man who murdered a woman in 1751 believing she was a witch.

Tring is a small market town in Hertfordshire, England.

It is situated in a gap passing through the Chiltern Hills, classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 30 miles northwest of London.
