Bolton-by-Bowland

The Legend of Rainsber Scar

Overlooking the River Ribble at Bolton-by-Bowland is Rainsber Scar, which is a stunning spot - known locally as Pudsay's Leap.

According to Coxe, William Pudsay is said to have made the leap on horseback when being chased by soldiers for illegally minting his own coins. These coins were supposedly made with a little help from local fairies.
