Fawsley Hall

Fawsley Park Dower House

Fawsley Hall and landscape park was created by the Knightley family. Richard Knightley, a well-to-do Staffordshire lawyer, bought the manor of Fawsley in 1416. The dower house in Fawsley Park, last inhabited in 1702 and now in ruins, was built for Lady Ursula after her husband Sir Edmund Knightley died. It was placed on the Heritage at Risk register by English Heritage in 2014.

The ghost of a huntsman dressed in green appears in the ruins on New Years Eve. He will foretell the death of anyone brave - or stupid - enough to visit on that night.
