A headless apparition of Sir Robert Pye is said to walk next to the northern wall of Faringdon Church (pictured above). In life, Pye was a Parliamentarian who lay siege to the home of his own father who lived at Faringdon Hall, then a Royalist stronghold.

Oriel Cottage

Poltergeist activity was reported at Oriel Cottage on Wicklesham Road in the 1960’s, although a subsequent exorcism seemed to quell the phenomena.

Faringdon is a market town in the Vale of White Horse, Oxfordshire, England.

It is situated about 18 miles southwest of Oxford and about 10 miles northwest of Wantage.
