High Street and Bridge Street

The junction of High Street and Bridge Street was once reputedly haunted by female who was knocked down at this spot in 1930. The apparition would step out in front of cars, causing drivers to brake hard to avoid a collision. The area has since been pedestrianised which seems to have had a decline in reports.
