Ditteridge, Wiltshire, England

The entrance to Cheney Court

Cheney Court

This Jacobean mansion is reputedly haunted; athough the author Coxe provides no other details. Other sources state that a female apparition frequenting the mansion is that of Queen Henrietta (the Queen Consort of England, Scotland and Ireland). She was the wife of King Charles I, and mother of two monarchs: Charles II and James II, and Grandmother of three: Mary II, William II and Anne.
