Broadway, Worcestershire, England

A view of Middle Hill

Middle Hill

Middle Hill has an area of beech woodland, which was used to hide the bells of Broadway during the Reformation. Presumably never reclaimed, they have been heard on occasion ringing at night. Curiously they were reportedly heard peeling during the Second World War, when bell-ringing was prohibited!
