Newbridge Memorial Hall

Newbridge Memo (as it is known locally) is said to be haunted by the ghosts of an usherette, a figure standing in the balcony area of the cinema, a woman dressed in 1940’s flapper clothes walking towards the ballroom, and shadowy figures seen on the steps to the cinema ticket booth. Objects have reportedly moved in the bar area and audible phenomena have included the sounds of people moving around and playing music in locked dressing rooms.

The Three Horseshoes

During the 1920’s, the Three Horseshoes began to get the reputation of being haunted by poltergeist phenomena.

Kettles boiling over the fire would tip, pictures moved by themselves and cutlery was witnessed, “dancing”!

Visitor Information

Newbridge (Welsh: Trecelyn) is a town in the county borough of Caerphilly, south Wales. The town is located within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire.

In medieval times what are now the separate townships of Abercarn, Cwmcarn and Newbridge were known as Abercarne, a manorial title that goes back to the Norman period. Until quite recently the three townships were also within the boundaries of the ancient parish of Mynyddislwyn.
