Aberglasney House

Aberglasney House

Aberglasney House and Gardens is a medieval house and gardens that is owned and run by Aberglasney Restoration Trust. The house is a Grade II* listed building.

Aberglasney House is reputed to be haunted, and the accounts stem back to the 1630's when a housekeeper allegedly saw five candle floating in the Blue Room. The following morning, five servants were discovered dead in their beds. The cause of death was attributed to asphyxiation from a charcoal stove left burning to dry the plaster that had been recently applied to the room in which they were sleeping.

Apparitions reported at the house include what is believed to be Thomas Phillips who owned the house until his death in 1824. Also sighted is a young girl who appears to be cooking has been reported in the basement. Phantom footsteps have also been reported as well as an overwhelming sense of unease in the woods at the rear of the property.
