Carnedd-ddew

Carnedd-ddew is an old cairn that lies on the hills above Llanfairfechan (translates as Cairn of the Idol). In the 1720’s, a man named Paul Parry was working there and found an idol apparently made of gold. He took it home, which in retrospect was not a good idea, as his house immediately became haunted! So bad was the haunting that Parry threw the idol away – and with it the ghost. Unfortunately, his actions also meant that there was no description of the idol or last known location.
