Llannefydd, Conwy, Wales

The Hawk and Buckle

Berain Manor

The house and grounds have a reputation for being haunted, and much of it is owed to the history associated with the building. Some of the ghostly phenomena are reportedly found in the orchard, where it is said each of Katheryn of Berain’s husbands is buried.

Reports of eerie screams emanating from the orchard and misty figures glanced in between the trees during the hours of darkness give rise to a very special atmosphere. The ghost that has been sighted in the house is supposed to be Kathryn herself - head bowed, moaning and wringing her hands in remorse of her foul deeds.
