Ffynnon Beuno Cave

Ffynnon Beuno

St. Beuno’s Well (or Ffynnon Beuno in Welsh) is a medieval enclosed bath, measuring approximately 10.5ft by 15ft, with old stepping-stones at one corner and the overflow through a stone head.

Daffyd Ddu Hiraddug

Sources claim that the remains of Daffyd Ddu Hiraddug - which translates as David Black of Hiraddug - are buried within the walls of the church. By being buried there he would be able to cheat the devil. A cycle of legends grew about the abilities of David Black as a wizard on and it was believed that his power stems from his interest in evil spirits.
