In 1886, Old Cymau House was reputedly badly haunted by various phenomena that included tapping on windows, and the disturbing disembodied voice asking for prayers for their soul.
Similar phenomena also occurred at New Cymau Hall (now Cymau Farm).
Cymau is a small village situated in the community of Llanfynydd, Flintshire on the edge of the mountains of northeast Wales. Its name is derived from the Welsh word cymau, an old form of the plural for cwm, "valley" or "hollow".
