Maes-y-Neuadd (which means "The Mansion in the Meadow") is a very old Welsh Tudor manor house, dating from the 14th century, which is now a country hotel (above). It is said to be haunted by rapping sounds, doors open and shut of their own accord, and lampshades move. The ghost of a small yellow dog has been reported in the gardens. It is purported to be an omen of death, but it is not known whether for the person who sees it or whether it means someone else.
