The Handbill

In the 1700’s, a spirit stopped a maidservant from Graig y Saeson as she walked home one night. The spirit, in the form of a man, asked her to remove “a handbill” that he had secreted in life under a heap of stones. If she did not oblige, the spirit informed her that she would have “no peace”. The poor girl was in no position to do other than what the ghost wished. Unfortunately, the experience affected her so much that Edmund Jones states that she died three years after the encounter.
