Whitson, Newport, Wales

St. Mary's Church, Whitson

Eva Roberts

The ghost of Eva Roberts was said to haunt the house in Whitson, which is now the village post office. The story says that an exorcism was conducted, and her ghost appeared only to be chased away by the villagers! It is said that her ghost dived into a well on the outskirts of Newport, never to be seen again.

This then gave the name to the local area... Eveswell.
