The spring has reputed healing powers for warts, and can also be used as a wishing well. Pins are to be given as offerings. It is possible that this is also known as St Brynach's Well, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Cilgwyn is a chapelry in the parish of Nevern, hundred of Kemmes, in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

It lies about 2.5 miles from Newport.
