Garndiffaith Viaduct

Coombes Cross

A large spectral black dog was said to roam the area around Coombes Cross. Its apparent purpose was to warn miners of their impending death should they venture into work that day. It is said those that headed its warning and went home, were saved by its appearance, but those that ignored it did so at their peril. With the mine long since gone, does the dog still wander these hills?
