The Caxton Gibbet Inn

The Caxton Gibbet Inn took its name from an actual gibbet that was located with 200 yards.

According elsworthchronicle.org.uk, a fire in the early 21st century resulted in the old inn sustaining such extensive damage that it was subsequently demolished, and the site is now "occupied by fast food outlets".

Playfair states that the son of a former landlord murdered three guests in what was Room 5. He was consequently sentenced to swing from the nearby gibbet.

Phenomena included phantom footsteps that would walk down the stairs from Room 5.
