St. Kentigern's Church

Gill House

Gill House is a Grade II Listed Building, built around 1830 for John Reay. During the Second World War, Gill House was used by the Land Army, and was regarded as being “terribly haunted”. Sensations experienced by some witnesses included that of being strangled.

Aspatria is a civil parish on the north side of the Ellen Valley in Cumbria, England.

It lies about 8 miles northeast of Maryport, 9 miles north of Cockermouth and 5 miles from the coast and Allonby.
