Braunton Burrows

Braunton Burrows

Braunton Burrows is a sand dune system, which is privately owned and forms part of the Christie Devon Estates Trust.

The ghost of William de Tracey (see Lapford, Devon) is condemned to twist ropes made from sand here. When he is about to complete the task, a Black Dog appears with a ball of fire, causing the sand to burn therefore undoing the work of de Tracey.

A ghost known as Jack White Hat paces another area of Braunton Burrows where the Taw and Torridge meet. Jack cakks for a boat to take him to Appledore.
