The former Royal Oak public house (now a B&B)

The Royal Oak

The Royal Oak Inn was built in 1714 and served as a publci house until it was converted to a Bed and Breakfast. When Coxe wrote about it in Haunted Britain it was still an inn. He states that a ghostly coach carrying Lady Howard from Okehampton Castle has been sighted outside, but more often is heard.
