St. Margaret's Well

St. Margaret’s Well

The Holy Well (pictured above) was said to be responsible for restoring the sight of Algar after people had stoned him. His punishment of stoning was for the simple act of seizing the hand of the girl he loved, St. Ffrediswwyde. She called for the help of St. Margaret and this resulted in the Well. It is now a sight of pilgrimage.
