Should you follow a track leading through the woods at Witheridge Hill, you may discover a stone wall that is reputedly haunted. The apparition of a “brooding” woman sits on the wall, although the author Coxe, writing in 'Haunted Britain', provides no explanation as to her identity or backstory.

It is located in the Chiltern Hills, about 4 miles west of Henley-on-Thames.
