The sounds of light footsteps “scampering about on a hard floor” have been reported. The assumption is that this is the ghost of a child. However, the rooms in which the noises are reported are all carpeted.

The George Public House

The George Public House is reputedly haunted by a grey lady. Other phenomena include footsteps being heard, something unseen sitting on a bed and furniture is moved.

The Kings Head

The apparition of a monk that sometimes leaves an “unpleasant smell in his wake” haunts the Kings Head pub. Bedclothes have been reportedly tugged by something unseen during the night.

It is located on the right bank of the River Thames where it is met by a corollary, the Abbey River and a tributary, the River Bourne or Chertsey Bourne. Chertsey is centred 18 miles southwest of central London.
