The Court House is a half-timber and brick house, probably of the late 16th century, with 18th-century and later alterations, and modern brick additions on the east and south. It is now a splendid boutique Bed and Breakfast.
It is reputedly haunted by the ghost of Lady Lightfoot who returns in a phantom coach drawn by four fiery steeds that proceed up the drive and right through the house, shrieking terrifyingly as she does so.
