The Whitbread Centre

The Whitbread Centre

The Whitbread Centre was once the home of the old Rhymney Brewery offices. It now forms part of Rhymney College. The Rhymney Brewery began operating in the building in 1839 with Andrew Buchan as its manager.

It is said that he still returns to his place of work long after his death, and a number of persons have reported seeing his apparition in the premises. Footsteps have also been heard walking around the upper floor.

Visitor Information

Rhymney (Welsh: Rhymni) is a town and a community located in the county borough of Caerphilly in southeast Wales, within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire.

Many outside of Wales know Rhymney as a result of the song "The Bells of Rhymney", a musical adaptation of a poem by Idris Davies.
