The Pont Llanafan Poltergeist

A farmer living near to the bridge in Llanafan was subjected to continual problems from what some considered a poltergeist during the 1800’s. Phenomena included the throwing of stones, ashes put in the milk, and being generally noisy.

One day, the farmer was at his wits end and challenged the poltergeist as to its purpose. It apparently turned out that treasure was to be found, and the spirit gave the location in an old wall nearby. He found a substantial sum of money and built a new house as a result, using stone from the wall in which the money was found. The ghost never plagued him again.

Pont Llanafan Pirates

The ghosts of pirates who were said to have hidden treasure in the area of Graig-y-Rogof before their deaths reputedly haunt the area. There are reports of sightings dating back to the early 1900’s, and maybe the treasure is yet to be found.
