The Blue Lion

The Blue Lion in Cwm, which was once originally a farm, is haunted by the ghost of John Henry, who has been regularly heard and seen wandering the interior of the pub. It is believed that his father and brother murdered John over the farm. On at least one occasion the ghost of John has also been seen in company with the ghosts of his father and brother!

 

The apparition of a “nice old lady” in a blue dress has also been reported. Other phenomena include animals being let out of their cages, objects moving and cold spots.

 

Legend has it that the walls surrounding the snug house the tombs of former monks. It is generally believed that there is an underground tunnel that leads to the local churchyard.

The church in Cwm is dedicated to two 6th century saints, St Mael and St Sulien.
