Junction to the Old Warren

The Old Warren

During the 1930’s, the Old Warren neighbourhood of Broughton was said to be badly haunted. The place in question – the Old Warren - is described as “a lonely, wooded stretch of road”, and it was here that a startling apparition was reported. It was described as a “very tall man dressed in black, with a cape, and an old fashioned clergyman’s hat” – complete with a “disapproving grimace upon his face for anyone who reported seeing him. It is said to be the ghost of an old rector.
