The Cairn at Gop Cairn

Gop Cairn

Gop Cairn is the second largest prehistoric man-made mound in Europe, and it’s original purpose has remained an enigma for archaeologists. The ghost of a Roman general holding his sword and sat on a white Horse was reported here in 1938. Legend has it that this was the resting place for Boudicca.
