Visitor Information

Carmarthenshire (Welsh: Sir Gerfyrddin or Sir Gar) is a unitary authority in the south west of Wales and one of the thirteen historic counties.

The county town and administrative centre of Carmarthenshire is Carmarthen, and the most populous settlement is the area in and around the town of Llanelli.

Haunted Hotspot

Kidwelly Castle and the surrounding area are a real haunted hotspot for ghost hunters!

The castle is haunted by a headless woman cloaked in grey.

However, a white lady is also said to walk around Pont-y-Gwendraeth and another phantom lurks the well at Pistyll Teilo, crying pitifully.
